There are millions of people who believe that astral projection is real and that anyone can, and have, achieved this altered state. The key to this projection is practice and that is all it takes to astral project.
The practice of astral projection has a very long history, just like meditation and yoga. There are many different names by which astral projection is known and many ways that you can astral project.
Lucid dreaming, for example. You already know what lucid dreaming is this is when you are conscious within a dream and able to direct the course of the dream. This takes practice to do reliably, but it is as simple as saying to yourself ‘I am dreaming’ while you are in the middle of a dream.
When you do this you will wake up within your dream and you will be free to do what you want in the dream. For beginners this can be too random a practice to successfully astral project.
Astral projection is something you have done before, although you may not realize that you have done so.
Have you awakened from a dream still fresh in your mind, which seems as though you really lived the experience? These dreams are an actual experience of astral projection.
The ability to astral project starts with believing that you can do this. Everyone can astral project it’s just a matter of freeing your mind of the doubts which are keeping you from astral projecting.
Meditating and practicing relaxation techniques will also help you astral project. Meditating is actually an ideal way to prepare your mind and body for astral projection. All you have to do is find a meditative practice that you can follow easily and that you will be able to stick with.
A fairly simple meditative practice could be sitting in your favorite comfy chair, in a quiet place with no distractions. Once you are comfortable it is time to clear your head of anything and everything that is floating around in there.
If negative thoughts continue to work there way back into your head, just continue to push them out. Breathing deeply is the next step, focus on slow, deep breaths. This practice will help you reach ultimate relaxation and help you to transition into astral projection.
Breathe slowly, taking deep breaths in through your mouth and exhaling through your mouth.
Focus on breathing in through the nose and letting the airflow out through your mouth. You are breathing slower and deeper and getting more relaxed, now focus on relaxing your body.
Starting from your toes, work upwards, relaxing every part of your body as you proceed. You can do this by either tensing then relaxing each part of your body or by moving up, visualizing each part of you relaxing as you go.
You can also tense each part of your body as you go and then breathe out that tension as you exhale. Once you are totally relaxed you are ready for the next stage of successfully managing to astral project.
At this point, you are completely ready and prepared for sleep, but it is important to stay alert during this time. Many practicing projectors come up with a phrase such as ‘I can fly, I can fly’ there is no wrong phrase, so you can come up with your own.
Your mind may want to drift off and cause thoughts to start flowing through it.
You do not want this to happen. You need to keep your focus on a phrase to keep these thoughts out. You will have to end the session and start over if you lose your focus.
Repeating this phrase can help you to attain the altered state of consciousness which you need to astral project. Another way to reach this state is to use the ‘body of light’ technique, which involves visualizing yourself transforming into a body of light.
You can count on experiencing three main feelings that will let you know that you have reached astral projection, the first is the sensation that you are moving. The second is when you see lights and colors with closed eyes.
Finally, you’ll hear voices urging you either to continue or to stop what you are doing this is a surefire sign that you have managed to astral project.
