Everyone has the ability to astral project. There are those who astral project daily and those who rarely astral project, at least intentionally the difference between the two is practice.
Astral projection is a practice with a long history, just like meditation or yoga. There are many different names which astral projection is known as and there are many different ways to astral project.
One of these methods is lucid dreaming.
This is something you probably already know something about. This, of course is when you are able to control your dreams because you are conscious and in full control of your faculties in the dream. You can begin lucid dreaming by telling yourself “I am dreaming” while you are in a dream.
You can do anything you want once you wake up in your dream. This may be a little too random for beginners to be successful enough to astral project.
All of us have astral projected at some time in the past; maybe even many times, as it happens.
When you awake from a dream remembering every single detail, this was not a dream; you were astral projecting.
Believing that you can project is the key to achieving it. This faith eliminates doubts and fears about astral projection and helps you to easily achieve projection.
Relaxation techniques like meditation can help you to astral project successfully. Meditation is an especially good method of preparing yourself to astral project. You’ll just need to find a regular routine of meditation which works for you.
You should do your meditation in a quiet room where you have a comfortable place to sit and will not be interrupted or distracted. Start freeing your mind of worry and tension. You can’t astral project when you have these negative energies in your mind.
Pay attention to your breathing, take slow deep breathes. Imagine all your troubles leaving your body when you breathe out. This will put you in a deeply relaxed state that will enable you to astral project.
Breathe slowly, taking deep breaths in through your mouth and exhaling through your mouth.
Focus on breathing in through the nose and letting the airflow out through your mouth. You are breathing slower and deeper and getting more relaxed, now focus on relaxing your body.
Start with your toes and relax your body bit by bit, working your way up to your head. You can do this by either tensing and then releasing each part of your body as you go along. Alternately, visualize all of the stress and tension leaving from each part of your body as you do your deep breathing.
You can also tense each part of your body as you go and then breathe out that tension as you exhale. Once you are totally relaxed you are ready for the next stage of successfully managing to astral project.
Although you’re so relaxed by this point that it would be very easy to go to sleep, you need to stay alert. One good way to do this is to recite a sort of mantra to repeat to yourself. Anything will do you can even just say ‘walk the dog, walk the dog’.
Your mind may want to drift off and cause thoughts to start flowing through it.
You do not want this to happen. You need to keep your focus on a phrase to keep these thoughts out. You will have to end the session and start over if you lose your focus.
There are a few different ways that you can reach the altered state needed to astral project. You can attain this state by continuing to repeat your mantra. Many find the ‘body of light’ technique to be very effective as well. In this technique, you imagine yourself transforming into a body made of light.
There are three signs to watch for that will indicate that you are beginning to astral project. One is having a sensation of motion, followed by ‘seeing’ light and color (even though your eyes will be closed).
Finally you will hear voices these voices may urge you to stop what you’re doing or provide encouragement to keep going; this will let you know that you are astral projecting.
